Educational Foundation 2020-2021 Grant Award Recipients

Back Row: Brothers Riedel, Webster, Barrett, Long and and Fritz
Front Row: Brothers Grass, VanderVeen, Keller, Biehler, Nguyen, Kammerer and Klimiuk

Dear Gamma-O Brothers,

It is with great pleasure that our Foundation announces the scholarship grants recently awarded based on the results of the School Year 2020-2021.  It was our largest grant to-date with over $18,000 awarded to 11 well deserving brothers.  To-date the Foundation has given nearly $50,000 in scholarship grants, thanks to the generous support of alumni like you.

An important tenant of the program is the Chapter must succeed as well as the individual.  For the School Year 2020-2021, that tenant was met for the Fall and Spring semesters with the Chapter GPA exceeding the All Men’s Average on the Hill.  Once again, David G. Mackenzie ’61 again provided a special contribution to be paid out for current scholarships if the award requirements were met.  Thanks to David for his continued support of the SLP Program.  This allows the awards to be increased over what the Foundation earnings can provide.

After the tabulations under the program, the School Year 2020-2021 Foundation scholarship grants were awarded on November 2, 2021 to:

London Keller - $2,500
Andrew Klimiuk - $2,250
Andrew Kammerer - $2,250
John Biehler - $2,000
Luke Fritz - $1,500
Mason Barrett - $1,500
Jacob Webster - $1,500
Oliver Nguyen - $1,500
John Long - $1,250
Dylan VanderVeen - $1,250
Blayne Riedel - $1,000

Congratulations to these brothers who distinguished themselves during the previous school year…and thanks again to all of you who have made contributions to the Educational Foundation in the past to allow these recognitions to be made.

Fraternally and Appreciatively,

Edgar B. Grass '77

IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE A GIFT THIS YEAR, please consider doing so here.  Maintaining our status as a “public” foundation requires receiving a lot of smaller contributions (less than $2,000) from many alumni.  So no contribution is too small and the more alumni who contribute the better.  Remember to also consider gifts of appreciated securities which may provide additional benefits to the donor.  Contact us at foundation@gamma-o.org for additional information on gifting securities.
